AWCON 2018: Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah rallies for help for Black Queens
Minister of Youth and Sports Isaac Asiamah has termed on Ghanaians to guidance the Black Queens in their bid to clinch the impending Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON).
The Black Queens are paired with Algeria, Mali and Cameroon in Team A and will kick-get started their campaign on November 17 versus North African facet Algeria at the Accra Sporting activities Stadium.
Speaking just after the CAF formal draw for the event, Isaac Asiamah pleaded with Ghanaians to give the Queens substantial guidance by trooping to the game venues and cheering the girls on till the closing game of the tournament.
“We require Ghanaians to fill the Accra Sporting activities the stadium on November 17, every stand and room have to be occupied. It is about encouraging our gals and earning confident that we express what we have for women as Ghanaians”.
In wrapping up preparations ahead of the tournament, the Black Queens are expected to play towards Kenya in a helpful match in the coming days.
Isaac Asiamah instructed the Queens, “ This is your time to permit us know that indeed Ghana is completely ready to host the match, it is about women of all ages so be sure to we are waiting around for you to go out there and market the game“.
Ghana were being third at the last version of the AWCON held in 2016 and have unsuccessful to acquire the AWCON trophy on a few makes an attempt, shedding all the finals to fellow West African giants Nigeria.
The Black Queens won the 2018 WAFU match in Ivory Coast.
