Amazon’s Alexa Prepares For The 2018 Oscar Awards

Amazon Alexa’s latest update provides entertainment junkies with all of the need to know updates on the 2018 Oscar Awards, including when the Oscars are airing, what channel the Oscars are on, and real-time updates of winners throughout the ceremony.

Amazon Echo owners can shout “Alexa, who is going to win Best Picture?” or “Alexa, who do you think will win Best Director?” as well as “Alexa, who is going to win Best Actor?” and “Alexa, who you think will win Best Actress?” are some of the voice commands people can use to get 2018 Oscar Awards results.

Who does Alexa think will win the Best Actress award? “For Best Actress, all signs point to Frances McDormand for her performance as Mildred Hayes in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. But the writing’s not on the wall. Lady Bird’s Saoirse Ronan could swoop in for the win,” says Alexa.

During commercial breaks, viewers can also challenge each other by enabling Oscar trivia skills. To start the game, Alexa users can shout, “Alexa, Play Best Picture Oscars.”

Alexa will quiz users on a specific year and give four different choices for which movie won the best picture that year. To respond, users must provide a number of their choice. For example, saying “Alexa, three.”

To get the latest update, ahead of the 2018 Oscars Awards, smartphone owners can go to the app store and search for Alexa app. Once the update is available, simply tap the Update button.
